Hi! I'm Fion, a rising second-year student at the University of Chicago where I major in Art History. I studied at local schools up till Form 4 and took the IB exam, achieving a 7/7 in both Higher Level History and English and placing within the top 2% globally. I also scored well within the top 5% on the SAT English Literature test. I've written for literature and academic journals and magazines, including ArtAsiaPacific, Future Cafe, and the R3 Journal.

I have been tutoring in English, both formally and informally, for almost 5 years. I am an experienced tutor of essay-writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary acquisition, and have some experience in tutoring in speaking skills, accent reduction, and test preparation (eg SAT, ACT, UKiSET). I take an individualized approach in my teaching method. First, we do diagnostics: what concepts or topics need work? After that, we go from the basics, tackling the most foundational issues through conceptual explanation and diverse practice questions. We then move on to more complex issues within those concepts and tackle challenging questions that also require different concepts or different skills.
