I came to Hong Kong in 2014 to pursue my graduate education and recently completed my PhD in theoretical computer science at CUHK. My specialty was in the mathematical foundations of cryptography. Through my Teaching Assistant duties while in university (and private tutoring before that), I have greatly enjoyed interacting with students and adding value to their academic lives.

Now that I have graduated, my full-time position at a tech company takes up most of my time on weekdays. However, I am looking forward to continuing to work with students and contribute to their success on weekends and holidays. I am based in Mong Kok but I don't mind traveling within HK. Read less

I enjoy the process of building rapport with students. In my time, I have asked many stupid questions, and I hope that my students do not fear to do the same. For mathematics, I believe in building a strong foundation and solid intuition. It's useful to begin by teaching the 'how' and the 'why'. This gives the ability to solve problems or understand methods. After this, we discuss the 'why not', exploring common pitfalls and investigating why other strategies couldn't possibly have worked.
