I have been tutoring since I was in high school, when I tutored several of my fellow students in Algebra I and Geometry for the NY State Regents exams, as well as the Common Core for New York. In college, I was a paid tutor for 3 years for Microeconomics, teaching in both group settings and one-on-one. The University professionally trained me as a tutor, and I completed over 50 hours of instruction. I was also a Teaching Assistant in college for a Microeconomics course of 400 students. As a Teaching Assistant, I taught my own class twice a week reinforcing the professor's course material taught in lecture that week. I created my own lesson plans, held office hours for students to come ask questions about anything they needed, graded assignments and exams, and provided support and feedback to students as needed. I like to create lesson plans before each session that include graphs and key insights about the topic, so as to ensure that we focus on what is important and we can visualize it! Each student learns differently, so of course I like to adjust how I am teaching to how you are learning. I find that an effective way to teach is through example problems, so I like to create practice questions that reinforce whatever we just learned. And of course, I always teach with patience!
