From basic to advanced
I will focus on Pinyin, start with teaching the Pinyin system, which is the romanization of Chinese characters. It helps students understand the sounds and tones of Mandarin. and do Tone Drills for four main tones, and do Phonetic Comparisons between Chinese and English.
I will listen carefully to students' questions and concerns, showing that I value their input. Clarify understanding to confirm my understanding before responding.I will use simple language and short sentences to avoid confusion and check if they understand .Create opportunities for group discussions or pair work to allow students to communicate with each other.
I will use all kins of materials to perfect my class ,such as textbook (HSK 1-6),lots of online Chinese learning App and videos like 'Hello China ' ,'China Daily'
I will identify Learning Styles by using questionnaires, informal discussions, or observations to determine whether a student is a visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or reading/writing learner, then customize Lesson plans to suit the needs.I will continuously assess the student’s progress and gather feedback to understand what methods are working best. I am willing to modify teaching strategies based on the student’s evolving needs and preferences.
I will use Real-Life Scenarios to Introduce language through everyday situations in Chinese culture, like ordering food at a restaurant, attending a festival, or having a business meeting. This contextualizes vocabulary and phrases and I will plan lessons around cultural themes, such as holidays (e.g., Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival), traditional customs, or regional dialects, to provide a broader cultural perspective.
Give students daily tasks like writing a few sentences in Chinese, practicing vocabulary, or recording themselves speaking. Language Journals: Encourage students to keep a journal where they write about their day or reflect on a topic in Chinese. Language Apps and Websites: Recommend apps like HelloChinese, Duolingo, or Pleco for daily practice. These apps are great for building vocabulary, practicing grammar, and even listening or singsing Chines songs.
I will focus on how to establish a strong foundation through the Pinyin system, start with essential, everyday vocabulary and phrases such as greetings, numbers, and simple conversational expressions and help build up simple grammar system . Use repetition, listening exercises, and visual tone markers to help students grasp and reproduce tones correctly.
