Hello! My name is Kate. I was born in Thailand and lived in New York and Florida for the past 40 years. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with honors and I served in the United States Navy for 4 years. Professionally, I have worked as a quality assurance analyst as well as a transition support specialist assisting international registered nurses obtain their American licensure and relocate to a city within the United States. My teaching methodology is to first help make my student comfortable with me. Students learn better when they are relaxed and uninhibited. I will assign passages to my student and have them listen as I read the passage to them. They then read the passage to me. I gently bring attention to the words and phrases that need work and have my student keep a notebook of the areas and words which they need to practice. We'll also play games and use videos and movies to enhance their experience. Read less
