Mr McGuiggan taught my 2 years of A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, guiding me to an A* in both. His teaching was excellent in providing me with a holistic understanding of each topic, aiding the application of my knowledge to any question asked. His classes were highly engaging and entertaining, with the use of creative methods when teaching certain concepts driving my interest in the subject. He was also able to engage with us beyond the subject matter, making his classes all the more enjoyable.

I have been taught mathematics by Mr McGuiggan for the last 5 years and it has been a great experience. He is a very thoughtful teacher who puts a lot of thought into how he presents the teaching material. His lessons were engaging, useful, and he was very patient with everyone in class, always encouraging his students to try and achieve above and beyond their potential. He gave me the confidence in maths that I never thought I had, his words of encouragement and little tips and tricks constantly pushing me to achieve top marks. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor in maths, his passion and drive for maths being completely reflected in his teaching.

Mr McGuiggan taught me for both GCSE and A-level maths where I obtained high grades in both qualifications and I couldn't have done it without him! He's incredibly patient and makes sure that you understand everything before moving on. He explains things thoroughly and is really supportive as well as ensuring that you achieve the highest grades! I would highly recommend him!

Mr McGuiggan was a great teacher and always found a way to make maths accessible and easy to understand. He has a very strong ability to break down problems and help you grasp the basics, before attempting to solve more difficult ones. He explained concepts well, broke them down into easy-to-understand parts, and once we grasped them he would challenge us with harder problems. He likes to make learning enjoyable and really instills a sense of curiosity when it comes to maths - always pushing us to think outside the box and be creative with our solutions. His teaching style adapts to the individual, to make sure everyone is learning and understanding the concepts and, crucially, is able to apply the concepts themselves. He ensured the fundamentals and concepts were very well understood, whilst also creating an engaging and lively atmosphere in the classroom. I thoroughly enjoyed having him as my teacher, maths was always fun (even stats!).

I’ve had the pleasure of being taught mathematics by Mr McGuiggan over the last 7 years and it is an understatement to say our entire class was devastated when he was leaving to teach elsewhere. His lessons were fun and engaging whilst also being structured and productive. Mr McGuiggan accommodated for all the varying levels of intelligence within the class whilst motivating each student to be the best they could be. He tailored the lessons to suit us- giving hints and offering challenging extension work to high achievers. Personally speaking, thanks to Mr McGuiggan, I have become a much more confident mathematician who, not only enjoys the subject much more than I used to but, achieves top grades. I can put a lot of this down to his thorough effort to help his students and how much he cares about helping them achieve as much as possible. I’d definitely recommend his tutoring to any student who wants to improve their maths ability as with his tutoring, that’s a guarantee.
